- Welcome to Ānanda Yoga Retreat
Your Retreat Host: Erika Scribner
Erika’s passion and fun-loving energy is palpable the moment you meet her. Her welcoming smile and warm demeanor create an inclusive space for you to come as you are. She’s a multifaceted yoga teacher with extensive wisdom about the practice. The foundation of her teaching is threefold: stilling the mind (chitta vritti), connecting breath with movement, and cultivating love, gratitude, & self-awareness.
Erika attended her first yoga class in 2014 and instantly fell in love. Battling depression for many years, Erika found a path to a happier and healthier life through yoga. She knew she desired sharing the practice with others, and in 2017 she traveled to Bali and received her 200-hour yoga certification in a retreat style training.
Erika committed to teaching and learning immediately upon returning. In 2018 she completed a 1 on 1 300 hour advanced teacher training, and started her education in therapeutic yoga with Yoga Medicine® in 2019.
After over 2 years of advanced studies online and in-person, Erika graduated as a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist in April 2022. She gained immeasurable wisdom about the function and dysfunction of the human body based on anatomy, kinesiology, pathology, and the traditional practice of yoga. Erika is grateful to be able to bring these evidence-based practices to enhance the experiences of her students and fellow teachers.
Erika has attended retreats & trainings in Bali, Thailand, England, Italy, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, and across the United States. After experiencing the magic of yoga retreats for both leisure and education, Erika is now honored to be hosting her very own retreat! As someone devoted to enriching her own life and the lives of others, it feels like the perfect way to share what she’s learned and facilitate meaningful connections among her community.
